Smoked Fish at my home -Easy ancient recipe


How to make Smoke Fish- Old Indian Kitchen.

 Smoked Fish is very ancient recipe. In old days, people used mud ovens to cook their foods and kept the raw food items on a shelf at a distance over the mud ovens.It gives a unique smoke flavor to food items (fish,meat,vegetables etc) and its taste really amazing.

   Today, I am going to share this recipe "Smoked fish at my home" ,which is my hubby's favorite dish. This dish is a healthy one because no deep fry is required and not much masala we use in this recipe.But you will require a small arrangement to do the same.

  • Easiest things to get a iron tagari from a hardware shop or get clay flower tub of 1 feet diameter.
  • charcoal
  • Scrap wood
  • Barbeque stand or equivalent iron rods - 4 numbers

Ingredients:

  • Fish 1.2 kg
  • Squeezed lemon 4 tbsp
  • Crush black pepper 2 and 1/2 tbsp
  • Olive oil /mustard oil 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/3 tbsp
  • salt

Recipe:

  1. Wash and clean the whole fish
  2. Marinate  the whole fish with lemon,salt,black pepper and oil and salt .
  3. Now make the fire using the scrap wood.
  4. Once the fire is warm, add the charcoal.
  5. Put the barbeque sticks such that fish can be put on top.
  6. Control the fire such that it is nice and small just touching the sticks.
  7. If you feel heat is less, add charcoal and blow it so that heat can be increased.
  8. Every 10 minutes roll the fish to the other side.
  9. After 30 to 40 minutes,fish will be ready.
  10. Served hot with mustard sauce and enjoy.

* If you wish,you can cut the fish into smaller/ medium pieces and can cook with same process.
*I will share the mustard sauce recipe later, till then you can use the green sauce.

2.It very easy to use pach phoron in preparing lenthils.

4.It is usefull in preparing pickles.
