Raw banana gravy using daal




   Raw Banana is a green banana which we can take as a food after cooking it.It has lots of health benefits.There are couple of ways to add raw banana in your diet menu.I love raw banana so much and sometimes I fry small round pieces of raw banana for evening snacks,sometimes I cook it as a banana cutlet and sometimes I cook it as a yummy gravy.Today, I am going to share the recipe named "Raw Banana Gravy using Masoor Dal ",which is a very delicious dish.When I served this dish to my husband, he said "bliss" ,he could not avoid licking his fingers in front of his office colleagues.

Ingredients
Ingredients:

  • Raw banana 1
  • Masoor Dal 40 grams
  • Chop Onions 1
  • Chop Chili 2
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Sugar 1/4 tbsp.
  • Mustard oil or refine oil 5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  • Ghee 2 tbsp

Recipe:


Raw banana gravy step 1
Fry all together
  1. Soak the Masoor dal in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Take one raw green banana and remove the outer green cover.
  3. Wash the banana and make small uniform pieces.
  4. Now heat oil in deep cooking pot and add onions and chilies in low heat.
  5. Drain the water from Dal and add it too.
  6. Now add the banana pieces and fry all together.
  7. Add turmeric, pepper, cumin powder and salt for taste,add a little sugar also.
  8. Mix them well with ladle 
  9. Cover the dish for 5 to 6 minutes.
  10. Check repeatedly and cover it again
  11. Check the dish, if banana become soft, then add 2 cups of hot water.
  12. Boil them properly.
  13. Wait for 20 minutes and dish will be ready.
  14. Take out the dish in a bowl and add 2 tbsp of  Deshi Ghee for taste and smell.
  15. Serve it warm with chapati / paratha.
