How to make chutney for Momos - Old Indian Kitchen

In my previous blog Momos - Yummy chicken Momos - Old Indian Kitchen , I promised you that I would share the Momos Chutney recipe very soon. So today, I am going to share this recipe. It is quite easy and very yummy in taste.

In Momos, chutney is the heart of the dish. Without a perfect chutney, we can't enjoy much.

For me, health and enjoyment, both are very important. So, that you can see, I never make too much spicy dish. My today's recipe is also a less spicy one and you can serve it to the people of all ages.
Generally, in street foods, vendors are using Kashmiri Red Chillies in Momos' chutney for extra spice and color. But I am sorry, I am not going to use that, as I am preparing this for you all people.😊


Ingredients:

  • Fresh red tomato 1 or 2.
  • Fresh Garlic clove 7 to 8
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 handful
  • Peeled Ginger 2 cm
  • Chopped Spring onions 1 handful
  • Salt 
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 1 or 2.

Recipe:

  1. Wash the tomato and make it dry.
  2. Apply 1/4 of tbsp mustard oil on it.
  3. Light on the gas and decrease the heat.
  4. Put one roaster on it and put the tomato on top of the roaster. If  you don't have any roaster, you can put the tomato directly on the burner.

  5. Roast it until the color changes .

  6. Rotate the tomato with the help of a stick. So that it could be roasted by all the sides.

  7. A nice smoke smell will come in within 15 minutes, then please turn off the heat.
  8. Meanwhile, you peel that garlic cloves and roast them in iron pan for 2 to 3 minutes.
  9. Remove the outer burn cover of the tomato and add it to a grinder jar.
  10. Add other ingredients garlic, chili, ginger, coriander leaves, spring onions and salt in the same jar.
  11. Grind them all without adding water for 5 minutes in high speed.
  12. Check and arrange the ingredients, add 1 tbsp of oil and grind all until it becomes smooth.
  13. Take out all in a air tight kitchen bottle.
  14. Keep it in refrigerator, you can serve this with Momos and any other items (chapati,rice also).
