How do you cook Lobia - Old Indian Kitchen

Lobia - the English name is black-eyed beans.These beans have a lot of nutrients, a good source of protein, iron. It is low cholesterol food and a very tasty dish. So sometimes you can replace some of the non-veg protein with this beans protein.😜 Of course, it will help in promoting your health.

Lobia curry

Ingredients:

  • Black-eyed beans 100 grams.
  • Potato 1
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Fresh chopped garlic cloves 6
  • Fresh chopped tomato 1 tbsp.
  • Chili 1
  • Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tbsp.
  • Sabji masala 1 tbsp
  • Salt.
  • Oil

Recipe:

  1. Soak the beans for overnight or for 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Boil them in a pressure cooker with one peeled potato, little salt.
  3. Just allow one whistle and simmer them for 5 to 6 minutes.
  4. Now heat 2 tbsp of oil in deep cooking pot.
  5. Add the chopped onions and garlic, chili.
  6. Fry them in low heat.
  7. Add tomatoes.
  8. Drain out the water from the beans if pressure cooker released its pressure.
  9. Add the beans to the same cooking pot, fry all together for 3 minutes.
  10. Add salt, turmeric, garam masala, sabji masala.
  11. Saute them well.
  12. Add 2 cups of warm water and allow them to boil for 4 minutes.
  13. Turn off the heat, serve it warm with luchi/ chapati/ steam rice.
