How to cook baby Jack-fruit - Old Indian Kitchen

When I was a child, I always wanted to have non-veg food! There were instances when it was night and there was no shop open. But in those instances, jack fruit came to my mom's rescue in disguise of chicken!😜

Ingredients:
- Baby Jack-fruit 1.
- Potato 1.
- Onions 1.
- Garlic cloves 7.
- Ginger 1/3 inch.
- Bay leaf 1.
- Cumin powder 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
- Salt
- Chili 1
- Pure ghee 1 tbsp.
Recipe:
- Take one raw baby jack fruit and wash it
- Before peeling it, just apply some mustard oil in your hand and knife. Peel it properly.
- Make small pieces.
- Put all the pieces in a pressure cooker adding three cups of water and salt.
- Turn on the gas, put the pressure cooker over the heat, turn off the heat after one whistle.
- Meanwhile, peel one potato and make small pieces.
- Fry them well.
- Peel the onion, garlic and ginger. Prepare all for the next process.
- Once pressure cooker releases all the pressure, open it slowly.
- Drain out the water.
- Heat 3 tbsp of oil in the deep cooking pot.
- Add the chopped onion, ginger, garlic, bay leaf and chili.
- Fry them well.
- Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric and stir them.
- Add the boiled jack fruit pieces.
- Fry them well.
- Add salt and mix them well.
- Cover the dish for 10 minutes.
- If required, add warm water.
- Allow the dish to cook under low heat.
- Dish will be ready in all total 20 minutes, turn off the heat and mix 1 tbsp of pure ghee.
